I have been tring to install these drivers on a fresh install of XP. I can install the wdm and display driver and reboot but when I try to install the control panel and reboot it goes into a loop and reboots. The only way I can get back to Windows is in safe mode.

Any ideas?

thanks,

There has been several reports of the control panel fux0ring up Windows XP, although I hadn't any problems (I also have an 8500DV).

Did you download the newer CP? Did you try this only once, or several times?

I have been screwing with it all day. I'm doing a reformat again now. I have been try to load the system on a new 80GB WD. I'm going to try it all once more and if I can't get it to work I'll put my 30GB back in and run the 80 GB for storage.

Well, the only thing at this point that isn't working is the capture driver. I keep getting an error that it hasn't installed properly. I've reinstalled it a couple times and not sure what to try next.

Have you tried installing the WDM's manually through device manager? You should have 6) " ATI WDM......* entries under "Sound, Video and game controllers" listed in device manager, do you see them there?

Yes, I have tried that. uninstall all six / install WDM, reboot... Still won't give me the capture option.

I have been installing the WDM, Display Driver, then reboot. Control Panel, then reboot.

Had to give it a rest today and get the rest of the system and programs loaded. I would really like to get it working without having to do a complete registry clean and reload of the drivers etc.

Well I bit the bullet and uninstalled everything. Cleaned the registry and reinstalled, and all is well.
