and download the ati dvd 4.0 (only one that work with win2k)
installation went well
but everytime we try to start ati dvd 4.0
it's either say it's error and have to restart
or it hung the pc completely, that i have to press reset to restart
anyone know what to do

The latest ATI DVD player is 4.1.0.0, not 4.0. Check which version of DirectX you are using. To use ATI Multimedia Center 7.1, you need to have at least DirectX 8 installed. To check your version of DirectX, click on Start, go up to Run, type in "dxdiag". If you have DirectX 8 installed, perhaps you haven't installed the "Video Capture Update" for DirectX 8. Download it from Microsoft here.
