ati 9800 xt agp vs. 6600gt

i want to know which one is better.

for playing especailly half life 2

I'd take the 9800Xt, unless you have the choice of going pci-e.

Actually after looking at the anandtech review of gpus on hl2 they are gonna be about the same, get which ever is cheaper. If I were you id get the 6600gt cause its full dx9 card and has purevideo.

Well I'm taking the pluge and actually trading my 9800XT for a 6600GT AGP with dual dvi as I have dual 2001FP monitors. I can't stand the one dvi and one vga so I made a sacrifice if you could call it that and went for the 6600GT. I rarely game so it won't affect me that much.

6600 gt has two dual dvi.

i used monitor and not dvi . i guess i want to buy 9800 xt better then.

I'd probably get whichever's cheaper, since both cards will perform basickly the same. I'd tend a bit more towards the 6600gt, since its new, and probably will support newer games better.

6600gt in agp or pci-e (since they have shown that current chipsets can't use the bandwidth of the pci-e) is better than the 9800xt and is a dx9 card I had a 9800xt in my machine before buying a 6600gt it's a great card. I have two xfx 6600gt in one machine and an Evga 6600gt in this one they are great cards. but I am thingking of buying a 6800gt for this computer because it has become my default gamer.
