Ati 9800 problem in 1600x1200

Hi everyone,

Just got a new ati card.
All fine, but when I switch the monitor to 1600x1200
it doesn't show the full desktop. Only 3/4 is shown.
When I reach the border with the pointer the screen
starts scrolling to show the rest.

I know the monitor supports the resolution,
as I played 16x12 before on a GeForce4.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ati Radeon 9800 pro 256mb
21" Iiyama Vision Master 502 [S102GT]
PIV-2,8Ghz / 1024MB Ram / 240GB Raid0
Dell Dimension 8300 mobo

What drivers are you sing? try the latest, and if you already have them try the previous and see if that helps.

I'm running Ati Catalyst 3.7 now,
but problem also occured with the
orginal drivers from the cd-rom that
came with the card...

Use your monitors adjustments to adjust it to fit.

that was the fist thing that i did,
but no succes:
when i adjust the monitor black bars appear

Finally I found it...

Like I expected it had something to do with software settings.

The way to fix it:

open Display Props > Settings > Advanced > Displays

here you can find the monitor & change the props when you click on it
[my monitor was fixed to 1280x1024]

untag "use DDC information" > then you can change the resolution &
refresh rate [changed mine to 1600x1200@85Hz]

& voila: I'm in 1600x1200 game heaven now
