ATI 9800 Pro vs Sapphire 9800 Pro

Is there any difference between an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and the Sapphire 9800 Pro? Just want to know if there is any physical advantage to getting a card from ATI over a card from Sapphire. thanks.

Same cards. Now the software or cable bundles may be a little different if they include any.

I believe Sapphire used to (and may still do) produce video cards for ATi.

I had a similar concern as the Compusa deal atm is for the ATI 9800 pro retail vs the Sapphire one at Newegg.

ATI 9800 Pro retail=229.00+tax (-30MIR)
3 year warranty

Sapphire 9800 Pro oem=212.00 (no tax, free shipping)
1 year warranty

I heard that Sapphire makes ATI cards for them, but wonder why they don't include the longer warranty even on their own retail models.

Only difference I can think of would be possibly different RAM.

Don't almost all video card Mfgs use essentially the same RAM for the respective chipsets?

EDIT: BTW they are the same cards in all aspects that matter.

I got an ATI card and received 2.8ns Hynix memory, I would prefer Samsung as it overclocks better, but Newegg sent this to me in an RMA exchange...I had an OEM Sapphire 9800NP, it broke, Newegg sent me a Retail ATI 9800 Pro to replace it...not a bad deal to me!

Thanks everyone for the thoughts, I got a 9800 Pro from e-bay with samsung memory chips. Just wanted to know if I got a good deal. I got the card OEM for under $230. Now I need some memory for an Abit NF7-S. I was thinking about Kingston Hyper-X, about 512mb in 256mb sticks so I can get the best out of the rig in dual channel. Any thoughts on memory or should I ask the memory forum. thanks, Bolivarted

Bah to the doublepost, slow system at school.

Anyway, the ATI card comes with HL2 voucher, my friend's sapphire didn't (but I can't speak for all of them.)

I got 2 HLF2 Vouchers and full version of Black Halk Down with a GeXcube 9800 Pro Etream ( Default clock at 400Core 700ram ) for $189 i think someone stuffed up in the packaging of my card! 🙂 " JOY "
