Ati 9800 help...

Hi, I am new here and it is pretty apparent that the people here are more knowledgable about this stuff than me.

So anyway, I just got a new Raedon 9800. I have heard that some of these cards are better than others and they can be flashed to pro levels (and even Xt when the 128 version comes out). So i was wondering if I got/gave some information if someone can tell me what card i have or how to find out and point me to where i can get the flash upgrade? Also, I just got this with a new computer I got today, wasnt I supposed to get a coupon for half-life 2 (i didnt)?

On the black chips on my card its says (the card itself is red with a silver fan):
Samsung 325
then XXXXXXXXXXX GC33


P.S. If the flash upgrade can possible mess up my card or there are any other things i should know or download please let me know.

You should be good to go if you flash it with a 9800 Pro bios. Here's a guide from Rage3d.

The HL2 coupon AFAIK only comes with the new XTs and 9600SEs... but check out this thread.

...and yes you can always mess up your card if you run out of original spec.

Lucky you, Saumsung memory. You can definitely flash it. Go right ahead. You may even be able to flash to XT speeds.

Use the rage3dlink and MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL BIOS!

with that said I'm getting

443/806 with stock cooling on my sapphire 3.3ns board

that's a bit over xt speeds for $240
