ATI 9700 pro HDTV out????

<FONT face=Verdana>Sorry for being impatient and not looking too far into the forum, but do i need ATI's HDTV adapater or can I use my Ixos vga to RGBHV(5 rcas) on my Hitachi 53SWX01W? I have heard you can use vga breakouts as y/pr/pb by not using the two sync cables but this sounds untrue. If so, is there a way to use a splitter or something to merge the sync in with the other wires? I thought I heard one of the syncs are in the green......


Hopefully someone understands what I am getting at...
