So I wanted to record video today to find out that the "capture drivers" arent installed.

Long story short, everything was fine before. The proper codecs and drivers were installed. Then I installed the drivers for my Creative DXR3 DVD decoder card. For some reason on the reboot, my ATI codecs get uninstalled and I cant get them to get redetected in Device Manager nor can I reinstall them. When I disable the DXR3 card and even uninstall the drivers, nothing works. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this problem? Anyone know of any work arounds?

Thanks!

ATI cards have hardware assist dvd decoding. I would take the DXR3 card out of the machine. Then try to install the drivers for the AIW. If you have over a 500mhz machine you really don't need a hardware dvd decoder.

Yeah, ATI cards actually do iDCT. I really like the quality of DVD's using the ATI DVD Player in MMC 8.1. I agree. Take that DXR3 out!!

I took it out, and all the problems are gone! Windows redetected and reinstalled the drivers!

Everything works now! :D

Still no luck.... any ideas? The codecs show up temporarily if I uninstall the video card and reinstall it... then on a reboot they disappear....
