Hi, I'm new to this forum, so i apologize if i put this in the wrong section.
I've been having problems with my computer in which when i try to boot up, nothing will show up on my monitor, and I will get the POST voice message (ASUS has a voice error system) saying "VGA test failed." It won't even load up anything. I cannot get to BIOS to try to fix anything. I've concluded that it is my video card (ATI 9600 pro), since i swapped the card out with an old one i had layin around. I'm not sure what is wrong with the video card, since it is only a few months old. Is there any remedy to my problem other than sending it back to ATI and getting a replacement? Does anyone know how good their RMA process is, as in how long would it take to get a replacement? anyone know of a phone number to ati customer serviec that doesn't charge money? I'm in college, and I'm sorta on the comp quite frequently, so it would stink having to wait 4 months to get it back. I really don't want to buy a new video card, since i've only had this one since october.
If anyone has any ideas or had a similar problem like this, please help me out. Sorry for asking so many questions, I've waited for 6 hours for ASUS customer service to call me back, and they haven't, and the ATI site hasn't been much help. Thanks a lot.
My computer setup (if it helps any):
P4 2.4 with HT, 800 FSB
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb (well, 32mb ati rage fury pro right now since 9600 doesn't work, haha)
2x 512MB crucial pc 2700 ram
120 GB WD SATA HDD
350W antec smartpower PS
