I've been waiting very patiently for ATI to "release" these two cards. Seems like it's taking forever. I read reviews of both chips at every major benchmarking website all the time. But no card. When are these chips schedualed to be "RELEASED." Meaning, when will I be able to walk into compusa or bestbuy and buy one?

Reason I ask, is I'm hoping the release of these chips will bring the prices for old DirectX 8.1 chips down. Looking to get that spiffy asus 4200 with all the fancy features.. Or the MSI TD8X...

Could someone perhaps paste a link to a website that has a release date. That'd be great.

the 9800 should be in stores by now.......the 9600 will be in stores in about 2-3 weeks time, if i remember correctly
 
Best Buy has restocked the 9800s on their website serveral times and they run out almost right away.
I think the demand on these cards is huge.
 
Thanks you chubby cow you 😀 While we're at it. Are there any other price comparison sites out there similar to these 2 (pricewatch and price grabber?)

I don't know, why don't you ask them?

Just look around, most of the major online stores have the 9800 and have had them for like 2-3weeks now.
