ATI 9100 driver issues

well I've been having a problem with my 9100 over the past few mounths. I've pretty much ignored it till now but I think its now causing issues with light which I just installed for a project I'm working on for work.

everytime I start the computer the desktop control panal crashed (doesn't matter which version) and when I go to advanced in display properties it either gives the same error or the computer reboots.

with lightwave I can only get it to start if I put I turn off the 9100 and start it on my secondary card (Matrox G400 PCI) anyone got any ideas. most of my games seem to run fine but I have a feeling something is wrong with my setup specs for my system are:

AMD 2100
KT133a MB (not sure what off hand)
512mb memory 2x256
ati 9100 running my main display
Matrox G400 running my 2 secondary displays
Turtle beach santa cruz
some random network card I had it a box
running XP with sp1
 
So? which catalyst version are you using now? I ran my 8500 (which is the same as 9100) with no problem using Catalyst 3.7 - 3.9.
Catalyst 3.10 gave me serious corruption on Star Wars KotOR.
 
Do you have the latest MB BIOS and AGP drivers installed? Maybe the CP is crashing because SmartGART is having trouble with your MB.
