I have a 9700pro at home and am very satisfied with it, but I built a computer for work and got the 9000 OEM. I play light games at work aand sve teh fun stuff for home, so I might be getting into Counterstrike, and maybe RAven SHield (UT 2003 engine) too. I was wondering if that card can run UT 2003 at an execptable clip at 800x600 (my work is cheapo about monitors) with moderate settings.

Also there was/is alot of hub-bub about modding the 9500pro to 9700-type performance is there a similar tweak /BIOS dfor the 9000?. I have an assumption that the 9000 is nothing more than a rebadged 8500 with a few more features, but im ot sure...

I am considering slapping a fan on the pasive heatsink and seeing how high i can go, is there a good OC for this card?

overall is the card worth it? I payed 65 USD at New Egg so its hella-ceap and hopefully it can compete with the Nvidia MX440/460...

BTW I bought the card already but I can still change my order if there is a strong reaction in either direction (if positive i obviously wont change it)

Anand's review of the 9000Pro is a good read. A 9000 cannot be modded to an 8500 due to the fact that there were physical elements removed from the core, not disabled. There is a difference between the clock speeds of the 9000Pro and 9000 non-pro also, so you might want to overclock the card to get more performance. Peace.
