ati 8500LE overheat!?!?!

I have an ati 8500LE. When playing resource heavy games, after about 5 mins of playing I get a screen with just multi-colored vertical lines. I restart, and when I do, the post screen has little white dots all over it. I'm almost 100% sure that this is a cooling problem. The card has a small fan and I rearranged things to give it as much space around it as possible. I was wondering if anyone knew of a bigger/better fan/heatsink could be added to this thing and what is a good product? I looked at a few products but an unsure if they will fit or not. I am running an old 300W ps, one friend suggested that this might be the cause of the overheat. I have no idea. Thanks in advance for the reply!!
 
First off, are you overclocking? However the errors you are telling about seems like a core issues, either by speed or heat.

But for another cooling solution you would want something like this.
