I've got a Radeon 8500DV, an HP DVD+RW, and am using ATI MMC 7.5 to record TV programs.

It works great! But, only if I want to watch the results on my PC. I tried recording at VCD or SVCD settings and putting the results on CD. These play in my DVD player, but the quality of the picture is pretty lousy.

So, since I have all of this fancy gear, I figure why not make DVD's? Well, ATI MMC records the audio at 44,100 and that won't work in DVD.

People are real helpful with workarounds like splitting the audio from the video with TMPGEnc and going through all of these steps. But I just want to stick some Simpsons on DVD+RW, so I'm not really up to the making a whole career out of this. And anything else I use at the capture stage doesn't (a) allow me to change the channel or (b) allow me to schedule a recording (e.g. record channel 5 Mon-Fri at 6 to 6:30).

If ATI MMC could somehow be configured (or tricked) into 48khz audio, then I could do what I want - record TV to disk then burn it quickly to DVD+RW and watch on my DVD TV.

Anyone know how to get MMC to do 48khz audio?

If not, anybody use a different software digital VCR that can drive the Radeon 8500DV tuner and record to proper DVD format?
