ATI 8500dv + ECS K7vta3 v5 = ??

I currently have an ati all in wonder 7500 32 mb video card in my computer. I also have an ecs k7vta3 v5.0 motherboard. When upgrading to an ati all in wonder 8500 64 mb video card the computer won't boot up and just makes a couple beeps. I know the video card isn't bad because I tried it on another computer and it worked fine. I have a friend that suggested it could be some type of voltage setting on the mobo, but I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone know much about this board and putting a better video card in it? Thanks!

i had a 8500dv. that was such a horrible card i got rid of it asap (the aiw 8500 128meg is so much better!). the built in firewire caused lots of problems and never really functioned correctly. that could be the case in your situation, try disabling it to see if it will boot. There is a little red box on the card with two tiny switches on them. switch them both to the "off" position to disable the firewire.
