ATI 8500 vs. 8500 LE Dual Monitor Output

I've been looking into purchasing a new video card for the dual 21" monitors I recently purchased but have run into a problem. A friend of mine has been talking to me about buying the Devil Monster II card by Apollo, citing the included 15-pin output adapter as very convenient and performance-enhancing, however the card only runs 4ns (rather than 3.3ns of the normal ati cards) memory and 250MHz ram clocking, so since I do alot of gaming at high levels of competition this doesn't look as inviting. I basically will be using the dual-output for things like coding in vs.net and photoshop so I don't want a card that has the 'drag-lag' rumored with many cards on the market today (i.e. dragging a window between the screens lags the computer) but I want something that will remain competitive with a high end processor for ut2k3 (i'll most likely buy a new vidcard once doom3 comes out).

I guess my question is this: Are there any new cards on the market such as the Radeon 9700 that will have good dual-monitor support, and if not, is the dual monitor support provided with the standard Radeon 8500 128mb cards such as the Powercolor 3d Master 8500 on par performance-wise with the dual monitor output of the Devil Monster II?

I'd definately be willing to hold out for the 9700 assuming good multimonitor support will be there, since it's being released in august. Thanks in advance!
