ATI 8500 not working on tyan bx system but fine in intel BX mobo.

I recently got my Radeon 8500 in from Dell and It doen't work in my system (tyan tiger 100 mobo) . It makes the system hang after it identifies my ide devices in the boot up process.

The card works fine in my sisters intel bx based mobo thought.

any thoughts?

no patch on the tyan webpage. It might not even be Tyan's fault.

Perhaps it's a setting in the BIOS?

Did BX boards even have AGP Fast Writes? If they do.. disable it on yours.

tyan mobo bios is updated with the latest bios?

yea, I updated the bios the day the new one came out.

Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers for the Tyan system.

its a bx mobo. winxp should have it already.

But there might be newer ones. If you're having problems the first thing you do is go out and get the latest drivers for everything, regardless of what the OS has built into it.

I swapped my friend for a geforce 3 ti200 + 60. Works great. I'm staying away from ati.
