ATI 4870 in Abit IP35-E

Guys i want to buy a system about 1 and half month back at that time i want to buy 9800gtx but since i am buying this system for 2-3 years many experts advice me to wait for some time because Nivida G200 & Ati 4800 is expected to launch in some time. Now i am planning to buy 4870 or 4870X2 (haven't decided yet which one to buy) & i have selected Abit IP35-E as my motherboard.

Now i want to ask that since IP35-E is PCI-E 1.1 & 4870 is pci 2.0 compatible, will i face any performance drop when i use it with IP35-E since it is PCI 1.1, if yes then how much performance drop can i expect?

or i should ask this question in graphic card section

I'd say none.

The current generation of top end video cards aren't exploiting pcie 2.0 yet.

You're safe.

All of these video cards are already out and being sold now, actually. They'll work just fine in your motherboard, without any performance troubles. Just make sure they'll physically fit in your case; the ATi cards are 9.5" long, and the new nVidia ones are an astounding 10.5".

Yeah, not quite there yet.

If you're using crossfire or SLI it's different, but for single cards, you have another generation or two yet before the 2.0 spec is critical.

AGP was never fully exploited before it was phased out, to an extent. Keep that in mind.
