I ran the demo for a bit, and it's cool to see the video card doing AI, but I was a bit disappointed - part of me just wants to see a tech demo with stunning graphics instead of doing fancy stuff like AI or physics.

Pretty sure it'll run on any DX10.1 capable ATI card, so R600/R700.

DX10.1 only came with the 3XXX series and up didn't it? So no 2900 series (R600).
