It seems you get more per dollar with the 3850 CF, than the 3870 CF setup. About $50 cheaper per card, or more. And pretty close to the same performance.

Probably more like a 3850 CF setup so I doubt it would be worth it to do that.

So, with crossfire (Spider) it will work with different cards?

Yeah, I believe you can even pair a HD2000 series card with a 38XX card...although performance increases aren't that much, probably due to drivers.
