My wife wants to upgrade her notebook to a toshiba 17" model. The reviews are good, but she was concerned by someone mentioning the questionable quality levels of the Ati 1250 graphics processor included. she's not a gamer. She'll be surfing, doing office work and watching the occasional DVD or Netflix online video (pretty slick service with enough BW).

Any other concerns about this graphics chipset? We have the 8800GT machine sitting in the den hooked up to the 24" LCD for games.

It will be the perfect card, I bet it is going to be the full AMD chipset. The 1250 xpress chipset is much better then the Intel 3100 and the chipset as a whole uses less power then its rivals.

If you game this is not the card to get, as you mentioned you have another pc to game so do not make another post saying it can not play Crysis! :p

For a laptop doing non-gaming she should be fine with that chipset. I even play a little UT2004 with my radeon express 200M chipset. I think the 1250 is newer.

Nah, no gaming whatsover, though she may dabble with the PBS sprout flash games for our 3 yr old daughter. If things get out of hand, they can use the gaming rig.

I just wanted to make sure that this chipset wasn't flawed in some way.

Thx for the sanity check. Off to Costco.
