ATI 10.8 driver is no good for my 4830.

Just a heads up, after about a week of use, I just noticed my display was corrupting (fuzzy pixels like an old tv on an unused channel, lines, stuttering with opening windows, etc). I was able to get into control panel and roll back to 10.3 and it went right away. To me that shows this driver release is messed up as I was getting artifacts on idle desktop. I checked my temps and they all were around 32-35C.

Edit: FTR, this is the first driver issue i've had since my 8800GTS would refuse to work in XP64.

I know they are very similar, but it was certainly the driver if a driver rollback immediately fixed the issue. I'll be waiting until the next driver release to see if it has been fixed.

I have seen overclocks even on just CPU effect stability between different drivers, try everything at default and see if that improves the situation, its also possible your card is faulty,I had a Nvidia card one time that was only stable with no artifacts etc.... if I underclocked it slightly from its factory default setting with some drivers,in that case it was a faulty Nvidia card.

Btw no issues for me with 10.8s and my 4870 card.
