AthlonXP 5 or 12V rail

Hi All,
I was /am under the impression, the Atlon runs off the 5 volt rail. Am I correct or not

It depends on the motherboard. But on recent motherboards, it is virtually always 12V.

yes the 12v is the main one for the cpu itself in most every P4 and Athlon/opteron motherboard since the slot athlon/p3's i believe, but the 5v and 3.3v are still important for video cards (overlocked especially), memory (pulls quite a bit if you have 512 or 1024MB of the junk overclocked, watch out!), sound/nic/addon cards, etc.

Depends on the motherboard. Older ones like Epox 8RDA+ runs on 5v. Abit NF7-S runs on 12v. Epox changed it to 12v for 8RDA3+. Most newer ones run on 12v.
