Currently, with my Soyo kt333 Dragon Ultra, my AMD AthlonXP processor is running at 1.29gig when it has the capabilities of running at 2.2gig maxed... Ive seen in previous threads that the easy way to fix this problem would be to simply go into bios and set my FSB to 133 from 100, and voila!...
One problem - When I do that my system wont boot up at all...Then the only way to fix THAT problem is to reset bios all together, which brings me right back to square one...

Any suggestions? Any info/comments will be appreciated

crucial...

I set my fsb to 133, and my frequency to 133 as well... When I restart, It recognizes that I have an Athlon 2200+ at the bootup screen...

When it finally comes around to booting up Win2kPro, I get an error message of :
Could not load <winroot 2000> winnt/system32/ntoskrnl.exe - FIle is either damaged or currupted.

Then I can just ctrl+alt+dlt back to startup to get back to by bios utiles to drop everything back to 100 from 133...When I drop everything back to 100, it boots up clean reading i have a athlon 1500+ running at 1299 again...

This is really irritating :|

Is there a 100/133 jumper on the board anywhere?
might want to adjust that

Your cpu may be overheating, what kinda temps are you getting? Make sure the HSF is on right.

You are prolly a bit new to overclocking and corrupted your hdd....hope you used Ghost or something like it to back your hdd up. When ever overclocking you risk corrupting your hdd so always back it up.

And for future posts.... try posting what cpu you have as well as brands of your parts...not on your 3rd or 4th posts. that way more people help you...

But anyway....welcome to the world of corrupt data due to overclocking

Format and re-install

I dont understand how it could be corrupt if it still works at 1299mhz?... And all my hardware is located in my sig('VicodiNs Medicine Cabinet')... Granted -I did not mention that... And I dont understand why Id have to OC to what the cpu is supposed to run at... Hardware's obviously not my strong point...

Don't mind him, he doesn't realize you were trying to run your cpu at its STOCK speed ;) and the fact that it works fine at 1.3ghz. What temperatures are you getting in Windows at 1.299ghz and what temperatures are you getting in the motherboard when you boot up at 2100+?

At Idle, My average CPU temp is 41 C/ CHA at 32 C...
Vcore = 1.74v
+3.3v= 3.05v
+5v = 4.91v
+12v = 12.16v
DDR = 2.47v
AGP = 1.47v

I cant even get into Win2kPro with settings I listed in the previous post... Just gives me that error message, and forces me to restart in order to get back into my bios to reset it back to 'underclocked status'...

sounds like an issue with your hsf, otherwise you may have a lemon-cpu. i had trouble getting my xp1900+ to run at stock speeds (1600mhz) with my copper hsf until i realized that the stock aluminum cooler was actually better.

try increasing the voltage to the cpu little by little until it boots. also check to make sure you have thermal paste installed and that your hsf is making good connection with your cpu.

finally, try updating your bios and motherboard drivers. if you ever can get into windows, run some prime95 to test stability. good luck, this is an interesting issue you're having.
