Athlons and XP driver question

I tried searching but I couldn't find anything on this and I'm sure its been asked before so forgive me. I have XP Pro but have not installed it yet. I have an EPoX MB (8K7A+/761/686B), what drivers did you guys have to install for XP? Currently, I'm running Windows2000 and the motherboard stuff I install is AMD's miniport, VIA IDE drivers, and Highpoint 1.03b. I've read that XP has full/sufficient support for VIA chipsets as well as AMD 760 so these drivers aren't needed. Anyone know for sure?
 
XP WILL let you install them. I installed updated via 4 in 1 drivers after I installed XP without any problems. It did nothing to speed up the slowness I had with XP, but it still let me install them.
