Hey!

I just installed a Athlon64 X2 5200+ socket AM2, supposedly of the Brisbane Family (2.7GHz, 2x512kb L2 CACHE, 65nm/65W EE...). It is even written on the box as a 5200+ @ 2.7GHz.

I installed it and now it shows this:

Athlon64 X2 5200+ @ 2.6GHz (stock speed of the Windsor)
2x512kb L2 CACHE (Windsor should be at 2x1mb L2 CACHE)
65nm/65W, etc...

Numbers on the box:
OPN: AD05200DOBOX
SN: 4615851H90426

Looks like I have both specs from both the Brisbane and the Windsor...

Whats going on lol?

I have it on the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 with the AM2CPU board (latest BIOS version), 4gb DDR2-800, etc.

Is it an incompatibility with the AM2CPU board?

Thanks a bunch!

Should I play with the clock/multiplier and instead of 200MHz/x13 (2.6GHz) adjusting it to 180MHz/x15 (2.7GHz)?

EDIT: After checking the ASRock website, the AM2CPU board only support the Windsor named A64 X2, hence the 2.6GHz...

I'll try to "OC" it to 2.7GHZ and see if it's stable...

What does CPUz show? You apparently have the AM2 addon card (Which I was wanting to put on the backup board I have but its no longer f/s).

Asrock probably didn't update the bios code when Brisbane came out, and therefore it may not post with the right info. I think the add-on was released near the beginning of AM2 production and therefore they only added official Windsor detetion.

Edit: I should have checked your second post first before posting this one. :)

Thats what I think too. ASRock didn't bothered to release another update for the AM2CPU board. Well, if I knew, I would have tried to get the Windsor, not the Brisbane...
