Athlon64 3000 which mobo?

Hi folks, need couple of advice. I'm on the process of makeing a pc for me which i need for Maya and premiere work. I was thinking ( badget limited) to buy a 3000 64, but I have no idea which one to choose from between 754 or 939..
besides i was thinking of asus deluxe mobo, but really have no idea. i guess i need a good graphic card which also don't know..finally sata or ata drive..thanks in advance

I currently have the Asus A8V deluxe for my 939 3000+ winchester. It's a very nice motherboard with great features. It comes with the bios already updated to 1007 for the winchester processor and with eveything you might need. How good of a graphics card do you need? Price range? These criteria would help. 🙂

IF overclocking and If 939:
i'd go for the MSI k8n neo2 platinum or Epox 9NDA3J or 9NDA3+, because of their good overclocking ability.

If not overclocking and if 939:
Asus a8v deluxe

If S754 :-
Chaintech VNF3-250

I have the A8V as well and recommend this board. I dont believe that there is a definitive "best 939 mobo." Really comes down to what YOU want and what features YOU are looking for. If you are an oc fanatic and $ is an issue I recommend the Epox. If you can spend a bit more and you are still an oc fanatic, then go MSI. If you want a decent oc and good stability I say A8V.

I built a sytem with an Asus A8V (939) and a 3500+ and it runs great, hasn't crashed once in over 2 months.

I just built a lower end office computer with a Gigabyte K8NS and a 2800+ A64 that was surprising fast, so far no problems in a week

Performance of each SATA or IDE is comparable. Price wise you can get a slightly larger capacity IDE drive than an SATA for the same $$.

I'd recommend going 939 if you're thinking you'll upgrade in another year or so. If not, go 754 and save a few dollars. If you go 939, I recommend the ASUS A8V Deluxe as well. I really like mine.

sky939 will also open up the option for getting a low dollar PCIexpress video card that can do HD. I was going to do just that by getting the x700 pro until I came accross some good deals on a Neo2 Platinum mobo and an Xtasy x800xt.
