Just in case you don't notice,
There's actually a banner ad for PC-Club on Anandtech
listing a Preorder for an Athlon XP2100+.
I don't see a date when they start shipping,
(I didn't try to preorder)and I'm sure it's OEM.

what other processors will be in the next batch released by AMD? i'm holding out for a true 2.0ghz which would probably be somewhere around an XP 2500 i'd guess. at what point will they go to .13 micron?

Which is always a good thing

<< I can't wait - when this is officially released, prices on current XP processors will plummet again. >>

<< wow 299 is a lot this cpu will be what 1733? >>

Actually, no it's not a lot. Pricewatch shows 2000+ for $239 1900+ for $183 1800+ for $133. That's a difference of $56 from the 1900-->2000 and $50 from the 1800-->1900, so following that the 2100 would logically run ~$295. Remember it's also their "flagship" CPU and AMD and Intel both hold their flagship CPUs very dear and jack the price up on it, knowing they'll have to drop the lower chips price-wise. My $0.02 worth... 🙂

Did you guys see Gateway has this on their site. I'm sure it's the Retail version and they have it priced at $354.95. If you order today you can get the free shipping and $50.00 off, making it $304.95 shipped. Still expensive, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Linked
