Athlon XP vs Athlon MP

I am trying to determine what would be better to have for game playing. Should I go with a good XP processor or should I get multi-processors? Please help.

Actually from personal experience, game playing with 2x Athlon MP compared to an 1x Athlon XP would be worse. With 2x Athlon MP 1900+ and Radeon 9700 Pro my 3Dmark 2001 score was 10,800. With a single Athlon XP and the same video card, I got 11,100.

Isn't there only like one or twop games that does SMP?
Otherwise Dual is a waste... unless you go for a DC client
