Hey all,

read a few articles on unlocking the Athlon XP.
Anyone out there with experience? Besides using super glue or crayons, anyone thought of anything else?

with the connection, I only seen the silver pen used. Is it possible to use Artic Silver (the good stuff you put between the cpu die and the heatsink) to make the connection?

I know it'll be hard to do it becoz the L1 pins are very close and need to seperate the 4 connections. But maybe I'll "paint" it on with a needle or a toothpick.

Any comments?

Silver-lacquer/tape method from Tomshardware works fine if you give it enough time to dry...

I used CIrcuitworks SIlver Grease to do it... applied it freehand with a pin head. Took some time the first time, but works great. I highly doubt AS2 would work. It probably wouldn't have low enough electrical resistance to connect the bridges.

I used super glue to fill in the gaps on my XP 1600+ and then used a CircuitWriter conductive pen to unlock it. Works fine.:)

ASII will not work. Apart from tht mentioned by Mikewarrior2, ASII is harder to dried.
