Athlon XP Unlocking New Technique - Is this possible? Please leave feedback Thx

Hi guys,
I have been thinking about unlocking my Atlhon XP 1800+,
I am curious as to whether it would be possible, rather than buying a unlock kit ($20shipped), if i could merely trace around the gaps with a pencil?

No, that won't work. The graphite tracing has too much resistance to work with the XP CPUs.

I doubt it will work, to far to go with the traces, losing signal integrity.
I used nail polish and defogging fluid to unlock my 1900 chip

ya..i agree with paraja. I read it in Toms Hardware They tried the graphite thing and there was too much resistance when using a pencil. So...even if the gaps werent there....a pencil wouldnt work.
