Athlon XP SMP Capable?

I'm not getting the differences between the Athlon MP and XP. Can anyone tell me if the XP is smp capable, and if so, what (if any) advantages would the mp have over the xp.
 
Yes, the XP's, Thunderbirds, and Durons are SMP capable. The MP's are the only ones that AMD "certifies" to be used in a SMP system, but the other CPU's work fine....they just don't officially support it. 🙂
 
There are people who have reported that they could not get XP's to work in SMP. This isn't an indication that they are locked, but one that you are not guaranteed to get SMP XP's despite one some people would have you believe. The MP's are being released this week at slightly higher prices.
 
I wonder if make the 'mistake' and allow the Athlon XP to be SMP unlocked by connecting L-bridges by pencil lead.
