Athlon XP question

I was always under the impression that the XP models had SSE instructions, but the CPUid program from the amd.com website says otherwise. Have I been misleading myself this whole time??

XP's do have SSE.

When you got your XP CPU did you do a clean install of Windows after putting it in? In order for SSE to be enabled in Windows you have to do a clean install with a SSE cabable CPU. If you moved from a T-Bird to and XP and didn't do a clean install SSE won't be enabled

That's absurdity. Is there any way I can bypass reinstalling Windows?

Sorry but that's the only way.. Blame it on Microsoft, not AMD

Try going to windows update and see if the is an AMD K7 patch or something to that nature.
