I have a Soltek SL-75MIV2-L motherboard that has the option to change the CPU clock multiplier in the BIOS from 5-18. Whenever I try and change it from the default, the change appears in the BIOS, but the CPU still runs at it's default clock multiplier. This is a mobile Athlon XP CPU, and all mobile Athlon XP CPUs are supposed to be unlocked??? What could the problem possibly be? I have tried all kinds of different jumper settings on the motherboard, but it still refuses to use the multiplier I have set it to in the BIOS. I am trying to use a lower multiplier for a lower CPU internal clock speed for a low powered system, but the CPU will only run at it's default multiplier???? This is really making me angry as I went and bought this mobile Athlon CPU for the very reason that they are multiplier unlocked, yet it won't change the multiplier from it's default even though it saves the custom choice multiplier I set it to in the BIOS!!!!!
Any ideas why the heck this is happening?????
