Athlon XP FSB Question...

I seem to remember a 2400+ or a 2600+ that came out in both 133 fsb and 166 fsb versions. Is this correct or am I imagining it. I can't seem to find a reference to it. I know the current 2400+ is a 133 fsb and the 2600+ is 166 fsb.
Please help refresh my memory.🙂

The 2600+ had both 133 and 166 variants, although the 166MHz (DDR333) version is really hard to find, and expensive if you do.

Thanks for the quick reply mechBgon. You're input is always top notch.
On that note, are you sure it isn't the 133 version of the 2600 that's hard to find? All I can seem to find is the 166 version.

Maybe you mean the 266 version (133MHz double-pumped)? 😕 The 333MHz version (166MHz double-pumped) has been scarce for a while, and the last reliable merchant I knew to have it was MonarchComputer--

--ok, whadya know, they still have 'em: linkage to 2600+ with DDR333 FSB and it's actually $15 less than the DDR266 version. That's good news! 🙂

why is the 333 more? thanx
Hehe, I had a logic failure and then you did too 😀 The 266 is more money, because it's rare. Somehow I got my brain in reverse when I said it was good news, since those whose mobos only take 266's would rather it was less than the 333 variant 😱

Heh, that's what I get for staying up this late 😀

what I recall is the XP2600+ which has the 266 FSB version and the 333FSB version
I almost got the 333FSB CPU if I decided not to overclock my system.

in the end settled for a much cheaper XP2100+ 😉
