Will there be an Athlon XP higher than 3200+ released or is AMD focusing all their attention to the 64-bit processors? Granted, if one buys a 2500+ and has decent memory and a decent motherboard they can easily reach 3200+ speeds and beyond. I am just curious...

Heh, I thought this was another thread about burning up a processor or something.

I figure the XP isn't dead, but it's being phased out. The 64 is the progression of AMD's product line; there's no reason for them to continue to develop old and inferior technology for much longer. Of course, so many people have Athlon XPs, so there's no shortage of stuff for them, but... Yeah, no more Athlon XP development. 3200 is as high as they go.

The King is dead! Long live the King!

Supposedly the 3200+ is the last XP, but, we'll have to wait and see...

It wouldn't be the first time if a chip maker came out with something faster after they said they weren't going to.
