On that link Leadtek is saying their bios is going to support up to an Athlon 3000+. Are there 3000's out that i'm not aware of? ... not that I know of...and how does a company claim it can support a processor that's not even out..... or is it ?

AMD is going to launch the 3000+ Barton on either Feb 7th or Feb 10th

The Bartons will be launched on 2/10.
All speed grades through 2800+ will be immediately available. The 3000+ will be a limited
addition processor. Similar to the way the 2800+ Tbred is now...
Newegg will probably be the only one selling it.

The 3000+ will compete with the 3.0GHz P4, so look for the price to be about the same...possibly a little higher

Don't fear the price assumptions, 9 times out of 10 they are way off, and there will be a sweet spot like always.

I could care less how much an XP3000 will cost because I never buy brand new stuff as soon as it's released for a couple reasons...

If you wait a few months, the price will drop about 25% usually

With software dependant hardware, (video cards), there's normally bugs to be worked out in the software, and later revision will provide greater performance

I was just wondering if an XP2000 Barton would be about the same cost as an XP2000 T-Bred B

My question is, how will the Athlon XP 3000+ (at standard speeD) fair in a 1 on 1 comparison of a AThlon XP 2100 @ 2.4ghz

anyone have a guess?
