when the chip comes out in 3 weeks is it gonna work with my mobo or am i gonna have to buy a new one? and if itll work will it be as simple as a Bios update?
Why not go to the Epox site and look under that board for the FAQ page. You will find the download for CPU compatabilities there. Looks like a "no-go" for now. Not sure if a BIOS update at a later date would help. I tried adding a link here but it seemed to be impossible to link to their FTP site for the .pdf document. It's not hard to find though. Took me all of about 2 minutes.Originally posted by: TheEvil1

That is what is commonly referred to as a "hint". As I said, it doesn't look like it would work, as of right now. And, as panhead49 said, there may be a BIOS update later, if it is possible. No one can guarantee anything in this. Heck, there won't be a "massive" difference between the XP2200+ and the XP2600+. I couldn't see "replacing" my MB if it wouldn't take the 2600+ but would take the 2200+. Sounds a bit extreme but, whatever floats your boat.it dosent list any CPUs over the XP2200
