no. not that much of a difference and i bet you can OC to 3200+. i would take the money and upgrade the 2700 to 3200 and later get an A64 939 instead.

If you've got an early revision 8RDA, then that board may not like a FSB speed higher than 185. I've got a 8RDA with a XP-M 2600+ and I can only run it at 12.5x182 = 2275mhz. I can push the FSB a little higher to around 190-ish, but the system isn't stable 24/7.
You should at least be able to push the chip to 12.5 x 180, possibly higher.

although that is near 3200+ speeds, it is not as fast as a 3200+. the 3200+ runs at 11*200, and the 3000+ runs at 13*166 = 2166. so you would have more like a 3100+ or so.

As long as your temps under load aren't too high, raise the vcore and try P95 again.

Yes that could most definatly matter. Some 8rda+s (like mine ) have the ultra 400 chipset, some dont, yours could not.
I use a program called everest:
http://www.lavalys.com/product....php?pid=1&lang=en
under the motherboard option, click on chipset, mine says "Northbridge: nVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400" whats yours say.
btw thats a great program for finding out just about anything about your hardware

Up your 1.8 vcore and try it. You might try and run some of your applications or games. Try and run 'toast' cpu load program. As long as they run fine and no lockups, then no worries.
