If you meant GeIL, then good luck trying to get the rated speed out of it unless you can supply it major volts.

My board doesnt let me change multiplier or ram voltage .... i thought Ram ran at its stated Rate without extra volt

Geil RAM is notorious for not running at rated speeds without some extra juice. All nForce2 boards should let you change voltage settings, you might need to set it to a manual or advanced setting somewhere. What brand and model is the board? Also, look in the manual (sounds really stupid, I know, but trust me) it probably tells you how to change voltages, or at least where to.

I'm running an ALBATRON ALB-KM18G Pro Micro ATX Nforce2 Board .. Trust me when i say this has no overcooking options but FSB by 1 increments up to 250FSB

But i dont mind because i want to run things at there max default and at the mement its 187FSB ...not bad but not 200 .... the sweet spot

I'll even go so far as to get a new CPU if u think thats whats not letting me hit 200FSB ...

By the way this is one of the first AthlonXP 2500+ CPU's to come out ...... so maybe one that i buy today is more likley to hit 200FSB

So a new board will let me get this system to 200SFB ???? ...

By the way i'm running a
Overclocked AthlonXP 2500+ @T 2Ghz 183FSB 366Mhz DDR
ALBATRON ALB-KM18G
1024MB GeIL DDR 400 @ 366
Micro ATX Case Lots of Fans .. CPU runs cool 45c with load
ALBATRON GeforceFX 5900 128Mb runs at 45c with load
Sound Blaster Live
120GB WD 8mb hard drive <--- also running just worm
and DVD Burner ...

All on the 200wtt power supply that comes in the case

The reason why i want my CPU to go faster is because in BF1942 Desert Combat i still slow down when playing 64Bots .....

:( ... it cant be the videocard it must be the CPU ....

i have the latest of all drivers even Detonator 45.20

3D mark 2003 score of 6000

But still get stressed out on 64 bots .. it runs good but slows down to a crawl when about 45 bots are in a group walking down a road and i'm in a Helicopter offloading 32 Rockets and 8 tomahawks into them .. i get about 4FSP ... when i fly away FPS goes back up too 40FSP +

200 watt power supply for all that? I think you need to reconsider. Can you give us the steppings from the 2500+? Some seem to not overclock so nicely as the newer ones (0314+)

yeah Geil requires a grip of voltage
that's one reason i didn't get it
but you will probably need to increase the vcore and/or vdimm to get any higher with yur oc

yur main problem tho seems to be yur power supply get something that is atleast 400watt if you can
i've tried a few 300 watt psu's in the past on a 1ghz athlon system and had trouble running it
I can only imagine how whacked yur voltage rails are on that 200 watt psu
you could damage components

good luck

i can give you an answer RIGHT NOW.

Perform the L12 mod, it will turn the chip from a 333fsb to a 266fsb chip. I had the E-X-A-C-T S-A-M-E problem with my 2500+. EVERYONE told me that the chip was bad because I was stuck at 185.

I knew my system could do it because my prior TbredA 1800+ was doing 217 no problemo, so it HAD to be the chip.

So I got pissed off one night and just took an exacto knife to it. I was scared i'd mess it up and was going to blow it with a 9v battery but I went balls-out and just cut it a little bit, popped it in and it detected as 266fsb, then set FSB to 200 and AAAAAAHHHH WINDOWS BOOTS!

Go for it dude, I promise you it'll clear up your issue.
