Ok, now dont go saying to get a mobile or something. Im asking this question.

if I were to get a Retail Athlon XP 2500+. and if I put as5 on it, and am willing to go up to 1.75 volts, what are the chances it will run at 3200+ speeds on it's stock cooler? going from 333fsb to 400 without multiplier changes.

go with a mobile ,

unlocked multiplier so you can choose what speed you want and how much voltage your comfortable with

LOL, I think it's funny how he specifically said not to say "go get a mobile" and the 2 people that replied told him to get a mobile. 😀 But anyway, you should also get some decent RAM that will run at 200Mhz (PC3200).

of course i have pc3200 ram if im gonna run 400mhz fsb. Thanks for the replies. I cant get a mobile because it is a bit more expensive, and does not come with a cooler, and my budget is just tight enough for that now to be an option.

I'd say its a 75% chance with 1.75 that a desktop 2500+ hits 3200+. With a mobile 2500+, it's probably about 95% though. With 10 - 15$ seperating the mobile from the desktop, it's a no-brainer.

You may not want to run the retail 2500+ at 3200 speeds with the retail cooler. How about a mobile 2500+ and a volcano 8 cooler/fan. I would wait and save up. It will only cost you $19 more for that combo.
