Lots of peeps buy OEM, they usually have a shorter warranty than the retail, won't come with a heatsink/fan combo and cost a bit less. For those who OC, the OEM's can be a good idea cuz your gonna blow the warranty when OCing and you prolly won't be using the stock/retail HSF anyway. If you're building for someone else (may want the longer warranty) and won't be OCing and can use the HS+F, the "retail" version may be a better idea.

edit: is there anywhere that's reliable to buy oem stuff at?

Yeah, newegg.com, zipzoomfly.com and buy.com are all places that I have purchased from and been satisfied. Newegg is prolly the most popular.

edit again: and here is a whole list of what i'm thinking of building and i need advice please: http://forums.anandtech.com/me...0797&enterthread=y thanks!

I'll post any ideas over at that thread
