i wanna sell my athlon xp 2500 and replace it with a athlon xp 2100 because i can't find anymore 1700. the problem is, im not sure if its a thoroughbred or palomino. i want the palomino one. is there a thoroughbred 2100? which is better in terms of overclocking?

i want to get rid of it cause its a bad overclocker. it sucks. i wanted the tbred one now cause i thought the palomino one is the better oc'er. do you think i should get rid of my 2500 to replace the 2100 which is a good overclocker? i cant find a 1700 one. some says they can get theyre 1700 one's to 240x10. can i do that too with my msi kt4v-l?

newegg has the 1700+ (newegg.com) and most people who are buying the new 1700+'s are getting around 2.4ghz overclock with it

your motherboard doesnt support 200mhz fsb, but it possibly will overclock that high (but unlikely)

more likely you will be able to do something like 166mhz fsb and a high multiplier

I recently go a 2100+ from newegg....I didn't look at the markings cause it was mywifes pc I was building....ONly after the fact did I oc a bit playing around....

I am at 2.083ghz (160fsb) is prime95 stable for 5 hours at 1.57v (.03 less then stock) with stock HSF...It boots at 166fsb or 2.16ghz into windows but gets errors....I am gong to get a better hsf and use cpu pin mod to change multiplier and raise vcore to 1.75v. I am going for 13.5x166 or 14x166 to go with the pc2700 I have...
