Now that you've helped me eliminate the 2500 as a choice, it comes down to these two fine processors. 30 buck difference which I could spend on nicer speakers ;) But is it worth it? I'll definitly be overclocking, as 1.47GHz doesn't seem that good for a workstation using a PNY nVidia Quadro4 980 XGL video card, hehe. Here are the revised stats that contribute to o/c'ing, so based off these components, should I shoot for the 2100 or 1700?

Case: Cooler Master ATC-111C
Cooling: Antec 60mm Smartfan; Artic Silver 3 Polysynthetic Thermal Compound; Thermalright SLK-800(A) CPU Heatsink
Memory: Corsair 512MB XMS PC2700 DDR (2x)
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Power Supply: Coolmax 470W CT-470

There ya go, thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Is it some unwritten law that no one will bother to look at a thread unless it has at least 1 response? ;) It seems like the old saying "You can't get a job without experience, but you need a job to get experience." Anyways, just a friendly bump before this post gets lost in the never never land of page 2. :D

Would have been decent of someone to at least say, "Hi there, we have a couple of threads on the same subject, why not check them out?" or something to that extent. It makes the composer of the thread not feel as ignored and presents the forum in a more friendly manner. Just an opinion, but I appreciate kindness. A little goes a long way when people are nice. :)

there are plenty of threads.... do a search...

btw... save your money... don't get corsair... get some kingston value ram with the bh-6 chips or some pc3200 twinmos/winbond... they are muchcheaper and do the job just as well...
