I am wondering what is a good temperature for the cpu if i have an athlon xp 2100+? I have a soyo dragon lite with 450 watt p/s and my hardware monitor has my cpu generally around 113 and the highest ive seen it go is 117. I am just trying to figure out if its in the right range and also generally what is the temperature to when i should start worrying about it overheating

the heatsink you have would be another piece of informatino needed (if its retail, tell us that its retail cuz that means you have the 'stock' heatsink)

anyways, thats a prety good/normal temperature

around 120-125 F is a good max...even 130 or so would be okay depending on the heatsink

yeah i have the retail box heatsink; one of my roommates bought a different cpu fan from some website and its like twice as big as the retail and his mobo shows only like a 2-3 degree drop in fahrenheit. Anyways, what is a good athlon heat sink to purchase?
