Athlon Xp 1800+ running slow?

I have two computers one is an XP 1700+ OC to an 1800+ using 256 DDR on winXP. the other is an 1800+ OC to an 1900+ using 128mb SDR on RH 7.3 using winnt under wine. The DDR computer is averaging 3:40 per WU. the SDR computer is averaging 4:40 per WU. IS this a normal difference for SDR/DDR or should I look at other problems.?

p.s. the 1800+ ran 5 hour wu's under winXP

My XP 1800 does WU's in around the same time as urs, so I suspect that that is most likely to be becuz of the ram. Isnt' there a site somewhere which can predict avg WU times taking into account the speed of the CPU and FSB?

It is most likely about the RAM. I had a machine with an 1800 on an ECS K7S5A that was originally using SDRAM and it was averaging 4:30 WUs. I popped in some DDR for the SDRAM and it now averages 3:45 a WU.

I don't know how to use wine and so I use command line interface on version Redhat 7.2 in another DC program and it trounces a win XP dualie that has MP chips that's 100mhz faster.

Wow my machine must be crap then. I have a K7s5a, not oc, with and xp2200+ with 521mb pc2100 and my WU time is about 3:45 -4:00 hours. I have another machine with a 1.4 tbird and MSI board it does them in 5 hours. Should me 2200+ be faster?
