Athlon XP 1800+ Review

Diable

Senior member
A guy named Anthony has post a review of his Athlon XP 1800+. His review style is more fanboy then journalist but it a good read none the less.

Actually, it's an excellent review, with pics and benchmaks,

<< His review style is more fanboy then journalist but it a good read none the less. >>

next time you give us a link, how about you leave out the derogatory comments? By looking at this guys system, I wouldn't put him in the fanboy catagory.JMHO.

"As you can see, I am a staunch supporter of Advanced Micro Devices. Having been ripped off by the Intel Corporation for many years..."

Not to mention the (oh, so clever) "Trash Inside" logo that he had posted. Nah, he's not a fanboy. 😉

And your not an intel employee. 😀

So true. But I don't think you'll see anyone who'll disagree with that. 😉

There nothing derogatory about calling someone a fanboy. If you can't tell from the "Trash Inside" logo he removed or the second sentence that starts "Having been ripped off by the Intel Corporation for many years" the guy is a fanboy.

Fanboy or not, I found it to be a nice read. I'm new to the AMD Athlon, but I've read about the pencil trick. What he did to overclock seems a bit on the Russan roulette side to me. Am I way off here?

not really. it's been documented for a while which bridges you need to close to achieve a certain multiplier or voltage. what most of us do though, is close all of them and then manipulate the settings through the bios.
