Athlon XP 1700+ Speed?

I just installed a new Athlon XP 1700+ but in Windows XP it shows up as only 1.10 Ghz.... it said on newegg that it was 1.43 ghz or something, i remember it was faster than it currently says right now.

Can someone tell me why?

I'll bet your FSB is set to 100MHz right now. Go into your BIOS and set it to 133MHz and you'll get the full speed of your CPU.

hm... ok i reset it , but the max was 132.... however my comp no long will even boot to the bios screen.... HELP?

what mobo?

clear cmos (bios, wahtever)
3 pins by batter....jumper on 1 and 2...but to 2 and 3 for a few secs, replace, restart

...someties teh process varies...maybe read manual to figure out instead of trying to figure out lol

what about pci divider....is it set automagically, or manuallY?

it worked, but now it says my ddr 2100 is only running at 200 when before it was 266... hm, oh well i will read about it and fix later

Should also have a jumper on the board for 100-132fsb and 133 & up fsb... (the reason you cant go more than 132fsb...)
