I am trying to get an athlon xp 1600+ processor to work on an asus a7v 233 e motherboard. Unfortunately, it is very unstable. I have the fsb and processor multiplier set at 133*10.5=1.4ghz and the cpu temperature is 38 deg c, which does not seem too hot. The cpu core voltage defaults at 1.75 ( the lowest option given). I have combed the AMP site and other hardware sites for info on core voltages and safe temperature limits for this range of processors without success. Can anyone help me here? All I want is to be able to run this CPU at its badged speed. I am very reluctant to experiment with higher voltages in case I blow the CPU!
Thanks,
Thanks,
