I have been running dual AMD systems for years now. Realize their chips have a different memory sharing architecture than Intel's SMP offerings. My dual athlon MP rig, my new quad opteron rig, and every dually owner I know has this problem. I am wondering if it happens for the X2s as well, if so, I may be able to make a case for a patch release.
The awesome action/sim mech game Mechwarrior 3 is supposed to work on Windows XP. It works on single AMD, single Intel, dual Intel, but not on dual AMD. When you go to load the program, you get a crash dialog box. I have tried everything, and it still won't work on XP. I don't wanna dual boot Win98. I bet the code just needs to be recompiled.
So, I am asking if people could go to www.download.com, search for the Mechwarrior 3 demo, which is a full version 30 day trial, and see if it runs on your X2 system under windows XP. I expect it won't, but want to make sure.
Thanks!
